jdarling
I am sure I will get raked over the coals for this ... but can someone please tell me why Barbie Collie breeders do this to their puppies? What is that showing? Or highlighting? Or hiding? Or accenting? Here it is again. ????
Sue R
Maybe that would be the "cure" for my saggy throat line... Show people do the silliest things, IMO.
Stoga
Maybe that would be the "cure" for my saggy throat line... BTW, good question, Jodi.
Lenajo
you have to pull the hair back like that so you can see there really might be a dog under there I find it less offensive than the glued ears on the first pup.
Lizmo
To show the outline of the jaw better? I have no idea really. It's just the first thing that came to mind. lol
claire24
I find it less offensive than the glued ears on the first pup. That was the first thing I noticed. It looks ridiculous.

Kelliwic Border Collies
Pulling back the lips so the dogs look like they're smiling in the photos.
Shetlander
My money is that they do it to show off the shape of the pup's head better.
airbear
My vote is for smiling too.
Sue R
My vote is for smiling too. Great - so they have force them to smile? Poor pups.
Ace
Great - so they have force them to smile? Poor pups. I laughed so hard at that I think its to show off the head/face as well as their chest/front. I am not sure though, I too think its kind of absurd. Chesney's Girl
Great - so they have force them to smile? Poor pups. But it's a Barbie Collie... Doesn't Barbie fake smile too?
sandra s.
Recreating the idiotic posture of a show dog being strung up in the typical show ring manner? Yech.

jdarling
Ok ... help me out here, please. Just looking on the puppymill advertising site again, and I'm back to the puppytuck pictures. I can't figure this out ... This lovely gem is a whopping $1500. And this fine specimen is also $1500 But this poor sap ... is only "worth" $600!!!!! Is his face not pinched correctly or something? Rebecca, Irena Farm
Front's not as straight, skull is too domed, eyes too far apart and large, and it's hard to tell but I don't think he's going to have that wonderful angulation in the rear, either, if he were standing. Something about the way he's sitting.
theshine
Looks like he's older than the others....
Laurelin
I have never seen that before in my life. I think she may be just trying to make sure the dog's face is turned somewhat towards the camera. There are easier ways of doing that though. One would think (and this is just speculation) that if you were selling conformation dogs, you'd be showing them stacked. And a thought about the huge price discrepancy, perhaps one is a 'pet quality' pup and the others are show prospects? Just a guess.
AllieMackie
To show the outline of the jaw better? I have no idea really. It's just the first thing that came to mind. lol A jaw outline? Gosh, my dog has that without my having to tuck him. Guess Finn would fail confo, since he isn't chub enough for me to have to nip and tuck him to show off his "features". BaileytheCollie
That is a good question! Probably having something to do with showing off the chest/facial shape idk though it just looks funny to me!
