Claire Owen
oh yes! Bailey cant fit his tongue in his mouth. Our neighbours love him because of his comedy tongue. It certainly gives you plenty of opportunity for some really good pics

BustopherJones
I always wonder how Annie gets all of that tongue back into her mouth before she closes it. Of course, in some human circles...never mind, I'd better not go there...
sandra s.
Uh oh, crate time approaching? I'm always wondering why Kessie's tongue is so short; this is about as far as it comes out: Before I found these boards I'd never have considered that a short tongue! There's some amazing tongues out there  . Try the search function, you'll find loads of tongue pictures. Oh and welcome to the boards of course! Beth G
Lol... yup totally normal. My two have almost always got their tongues hanging out- to some degree.
Kat's Dogs
Have you seen Wick's tongue yet? OMG. That dog has tongue. Dazzle's doesn't always fit in her mouth either. Very normal for these long tongued BCs.
Tassie
Teehee, Kat's Dogs - I was thinking of Wick too - but you know what? I think Claire's Bailey would give Wick a very close run for her money. ETA - Sorry Bushy - I forgot my manners - welcome!
RaisingRiver
Anyone have any ideas as to why a BC needs such a long tongue?
Kat's Dogs
Anyone have any ideas as to why a BC needs such a long tongue? So they can make fun of the sheep by sticking their tongues out at them. For real, I would think somthing to do with panting and keeping cool and all that - but I really have no idea!

I'm with you. Wick's tongue is hidden most of the time, but when she chases ball, she goes all out, not just chasing it, but hauling butt back to line up for the next throw. I think that she must do triple the yardage of a normal dog, what with the over-running, the circling, and such. She's also really weird. Anda
Airbear, I just visited your dogs' webpages, and I am impressed with the against-all-odds start that Wick had. She's so lucky to have found you! She's a fascinating character, that's for sure!
