JohnLloydJones
Good luck Bridget with your new home. You'll have cattle, horses, a goat and a new loving family to keep you busy. This time it's forever. Thank you for all the good times we had together while we searched for the right home for you.
Cody & Duchess
A big thank you to you and all fosters, all your efforts make finding forever homes possible. Without you these dogs would not live to find a better life. Thank you.
Sue R
A big "thank you" is right - for rescues, for fosters, for new homes for great animals! This is a wonderful post to read, a new home and a new family, and devoted people who rescue and foster. Very best wishes!

JohnLloydJones
Good luck, Bridget! That sounds like a wonderful home! I received an update from her new folks. Pool party and children -- seems like she has got it made. She is doing great she was a big hit at the pool party and loved all the kids there. I don't know who was harder to get to leave the party my kids or Bridget. She has settled right in at the house like she has been there forever. She is a great dog thanks again. BTW: I suppose I should "back-fill" with a few details about Bridget. She came into rescue described as a border collie mix (possibly with some heeler) at 10 months of age and, since then, had been adopted out twice and both times returned (too much energy; too "assertive" with other dogs). She has been moved from foster home to foster home too. She landed with me and I realized, almost immediately, that she is a McNab. No wonder she wasn't fitting in to a typical pet home. We hope that her new ranch home is going to be a better fit; they have experience with training and working border collies, kelpies and cattle dogs, so Bridget will get a chance to show if she has the right stuff. Even if she doesn't, her other job is companion to two active young boys who will keep her busy with frisbee and ball play. Oh and did I mention she is a dock diving junkie, so bring on the pool parties.
ShoresDog
John, that is a wonderful story of patience and persistence, to get Bridget placed so well. Good work, man!
JohnLloydJones
John, that is a wonderful story of patience and persistence, to get Bridget placed so well. Good work, man! When Bridget came to me, I wrote this to her Dog Manager: "Given Bridget's history of being adopted/returned twice, I am perfectly happy to scare off as many applicants as needed until we get her the right home." I also got her "My Ideal Home" text changed from "Will do well in any home" to " Needs a dog savvy, active home", and also "She needs an experienced adopter who can handle a dog with a strong personality." Our adoption coordinators do a wonderful job, but they depend on the inputs from the foster homes and sometimes, a dog gets misunderstood/mis-classified. Now I don't know if "third time is a charm", but I do know that the home she has gone to is as close to ideal as I could imagine. When all is said and done, some good luck is also needed; the OP was an acknowledgement of that.
nancy in AZ
Awesome job, John!! FYI to fellow board members--John is one of a select number of "go to" AzBCR fosters for problematic or difficult to place dogs. We are so appreciative of his dedication!! JohnLloydJones
Thank you Nancy, but you know the credit goes to Senneca: [ Senneca being motherly to foster boy Glyn ] She is the world's best foster mum.
Mom of Mya
That is so awesome, so glad to read a wonderful story with a wonderful ending. Here in Indiana they just took in over 55 bc, aussies and mixes from hoarders. I hope they all end with just as wonderful of a story. Bridget is beautiful. Thanks to all who helped this wonderful dog have a wonderful life.
D'Elle
Good job, Seneca......and John! I miss fostering so much! It hurts to see the dogs needing foster homes and I cannot take one of them. :-( The worst part is, I cannot really "look forward" to being able to foster again, either, because it will mean that one or more of my dogs will have died. (For those who do not know, I suddenly inherited two more animals a year ago due to my partner's death, making my home now too full for me to be able to continue fostering. I had been a foster home for ABCR for 8 years). DL
JohnLloydJones
Many of you will have noticed that there was a 5.2 magnitude quake near the border between AZ and NM; well that's pretty close to where Bridget lives, so I fired off an email to check how things were. Yes it shuck us pretty good. I had just walked in the house with the kids from the back yard playing Frisbee with Bridget. We were in the kitchen when it happened and Bridget was still outside in the pool. She ran to the back door very fast wanting in. It only lasted about one to two minutes thankfully. Bridget is doing great she is still very active and loves to play. She loves to go with us to feed every morning and night waiting at the gate with her ball. I will send you pictures soon thanks again.
