They had advertised a dock diving competition for people new to the sport. I've always wanted to try it, so I entered Frankie. What I didn't realize was that there would be people there who compete regularly and that they were not going to divide us up in classes like they do for big competitions. I figured I didn't have a chance against seasoned dogs who have much longer legs, especially since Frankie has a real physical disadvantage thanks to an old spinal cord injury and fracture. His right hind leg is several inches shorter than the left. Well, we tied for second place. Then, after the awards ceremony, I was approached by a producer who wants to use Frankie in some upcoming commercials and videos. Today might have gone to Frankie's head.
