Licky
I have been starting agility training with my 3 yr. old B/C and I was wondering just how long does the dog have to stay in the down position on the table? All answers will be well appreciated, Thank you
Barb Scott
NADAC doesn't use a table anymore; the other organizations have a 5 count on the table (about 5 seconds depending on the judge).
diane allen
If you're not in the U.S., disregard this! AKC (in the US) has the option (at the judge's discretion) of the position being "down" or "sit." Most folks agree that's its easier to train your dog into an instant down, then sit up if needed. I.e., the "table" command should mean "jump up onto the table and lie down." If you've ever seen people begging and pleading and gesturing wildly, etc. etc. to get their dog to lie down on the table, you'll know what I mean. Getting into a "sit" position, if needed, is much easier from down - and then you won't have the scene described above! diane
