nancy in AZ
Kit had her surgical staples removed today (Hooray!!) and is coming along well in her recovery. The vet has given me the go ahead to discontinue the prescription canned food she was fed once she's finished the amount remaining. Since she's shriveled to 2/3 her ideal weight I'd like to add some calorie dense food that won't be hard on her GI system to her diet. I'm thinking adding a couple of eggs per day would be a good start. I'm checking the Kcal/can on food labels. Does anyone have any other recommendations? rufftie
i think eggs, cottage cheese, regular cheese, rice should all help and be fairly easy to digest.
ShoresDog
When she is resting in her crate, maybe she could have a Canidae Snap-Biscuit. The lamb/rice ones seem to be tasty, according to Daisy & Juno, and they are big and have a good protein & ingredient mix.
airbear
If I think mine are getting a bit bony, I give 'em a bowl of oatmeal a couple of times a week. I add a bit of milk, but I'm sure you can omit that if you're worried about GI upset. So glad to read that Kit is on the mend!!
Little Bo Boop
I've had really good luck with this product, Dyne. Very palatable, and it really works. You can get it at most feed stores. http://www.lambertvetsupply.com/Dyne-High-Calorie-Supplement-1-Gallon--pr--015TRPY40020522
