DeltaBluez Tess
I meet Tommy about 8 years ago. He was judging a trial that I ran in PN with Tess and Haig. After my run with Tess, he called me over. The run was unrestrained but we made it around the course. I thought I was in big trouble but he told me that is a few years if I kept it up I would be a fine handler. And that I had a talented dog. It made my weekend. At the Finals last year, I reminded him of that talk and his reply was, “Well, you are at the Finals, aren’t you!” We got a good laugh and I told him that his kind words meant a lot. He is truly, a fine man, and one that will have a fond memory of that day, so long ago.
juliepoudrier
Tommy is one of the kindest, most giving people in all of sheepdog trialing. I am honored to know him, and thrilled that he has been inducted into the Hall of Fame. It couldn't have happened to a nicer, more deserving person. J. Sue R
It was a very touching occasion to see Tommy inducted. He's always got a smile and handshake, and a kind word, for everyone, big or small. I love to watch him run a dog...
ShoresDog
I love to watch him run a dog... Me too! His run with Sly to win 2009 Soldier Hollow is a favorite recollection, and his early morning run yesterday was smooth and beautiful. Almost held up, too. Laurae
And he ended his little acceptance speech by thanking Roy. What a class act!
PennyT
Tom Wilson deserves this honor. I wish I had gotten to see the presentation and speech. If it was on the webcast, I missed it thanks to a thunderstorm that whipped up just when when the awards ceremony was starting and knocked out the satellite. Laurae
He was presented with the award at the ABCA meeting--it wasn't filmed, as far as I know.
