Liz P
It does always make life so much easier when you have a relationship with a local vet. When I rushed one of my dogs into the local vet, literally seconds away from dying, he stabilized her and after some testing told me that he couldn't figure out what was wrong with her and didn't feel his clinic had the supportive care she would need overnight. He suggested we take her to Tufts Vet School (where I am a student). Once he got her ready for transport he told me to come and pay him whenever I could because he knew how quickly the expenses would add up once the specialists started to work on her. I can't tell you how grateful I was for that, for many reasons. This was a vet I had used while I was still living at home with my parents. Beth G
Well the vet was great yesterday. He said Popcorn's heart sounds great! He is pretty sure that Poppy has a mild form of juvenile epilepsy. No meds needed at this time(I'm all for that!)He feels he may even outgrow it. He also did some bloodwork. We should have results back today. Will let you all know more when the vet calls me, and I hear more.
ShoresDog
Well, that's just about as good as the news could be. Sounds like it may be something that can be controlled, and won't control him. Whew.

Beth G
Just got the blood results back. They were PERFECT!!! I talked to the vet assistant today and the plan is to do a halter on him anyhow, to see if he may have a tiny hole in his heart, as he had another episode last night, and something about it says to us, maybe it is his heart. So plans for that are in the works. We will talk to the vet, Christ Shneider tommorow(Sat), get a referral, and get it going on.
OurBoys
Well, so much for my last post. Still keeping fingers and paws crossed.
WyoBC
That's great!! The less meds you have to use the better. It seems like the more you try different meds the more problems you come into sometimes. Paws crossed that his heart is ok and healthy.
