kelpiegirl
Hi Eileen: I was just reading this in the paper yesterday- very cool! Doubly cool since I have a Boxer Dr Truesdale, who was quoted, is a well known in Boxer circles, and it is nice seeing research monies going to help the canines that we love. It sure would be nice to be able to conquer some of these horrible maladies that plague our dogs. Julie

Eileen Stein
For those of you who haven't already read it, this article elsewhere on our website makes an interesting companion piece to read. It was written by Polly Matzinger to explain to non-scientists how researchers go about trying to identify the genes that govern behavior and heritable diseases in dogs. Pipedream Farm
It will! Assuming there's the money to fund the needed research to find the markers. But at least now there's map to use. Mark
SoloRiver
Hey Mark -- do you know any dog freaks with deep pockets? There's been a draft sequence of the dog genome for a while now and that's what we've been using.
