Denise Wall
That's points off, not the score.
Margaret M Wheeler
Oh! Doh! Thanks. I guess I need to try to look at my score sheets at the few trials I go to. My brain does not compute forms well, even familiar ones. Are all the score sheets like that?
Denise Wall
Are all the score sheets like that? Formal score sheets are. Scores and points can be reported either way though. Normally you see points earned in the breakdowns but not always.
Sue R
I understand the scoring except for one thing - what is the gather, and where is it reflected in the scoring? I see that both Neary and Lacy's scores are added together for a total score (this is in the first runs) but I don't see where the gather score fits in, or what it is for. I don't see it at all in the final runs. Is this something special for the National Nursery Finals, or does it also occur in other Nursery classes? I know there is some latitude allowed in different trials, but this is something I don't remember hearing about before.
Shoofly
It's used for breaking ties. If 2 competitors have the same score, you go back to total points lost on the outwork (gather) and whoever lost the least wins the tiebreak. Sue R
So, the gather is another name for Outrun, Lift, and Fetch? I should have guessed that! Thanks, Robin!
