mydogMilton
HELP! we have a lot of deer ticks in our area and..GASP found one on Milton today! Since I hate using chemicals on myself.. therefore also my beloved pup, do I have to use frontline? Is there any alternative to it. I might be forced to since lymes is so dangerous... smileyzookie
I use frontline on Rivendell. In my opinion it works GREAT.
Rolf
May sound a little bit crazy or strange for you. I give a little bit of a clove of garlic with the dog food. Ticks do not like how the dogs smell and most of them keep off.
LaurieB
They also have a lyme's vacine avaiable. I have all my dogs immunized as we are loaded with deer ticks, and I unfortunately got lyme's this summer. I also use frontine on the dogs
mydogMilton
the garlic doesn't sound strang to me Being a very health minded family we "all" take garlic for stuff like that.. in fact I had already been giving him some, but stopped b/c I'm lazy... Alicia
I havent had good results with Garlic. Actually I've had pretty crummy results with every holsitc remedy for fleas and ticks. I wish I had better results as my Lab mix is allergic to fleas and has to be on a preventative. I have used Frontline, it works EVERYtime, never had a problem with it and it usually lasts longer then the month. My Lab gets uber itchy and breaks out if even one flea is one him so I had to use it. I've also heard Revolution is great and is considered more safe then most products, it also protects against heartworm.
