Jojo de l'Aude
Hi everyone I've got a question Jo keeps ripping his pads on his paws, he plays so hard like most BC's but then he is band from running for a few days to let them heal. Booties are not an option (he says no way!) so does anyone know of a product to make them heal quicker? Thanks -eden
Allie+Tess&Kipp
Is there a way to play on a different surface so his pads are not torn up all the time? That can't be fun for him. Or you either! I know that did not answer question, and I'm sorry I don't have any ideas for healing quicker, but I was just thinking that maybe preventing the problem would be better than having to fix it repeatedly. fooshuman
I don't know of anything to make them heal faster. I believe they take alot of time to heal completely. You can always booty him and make him wear an e-coller when out playing. All the other dogs will make fun of him, but it'll help him heal completely. Just make sure he doesn't chew thru his e-coller. *Looks sturnly at Zag* Then hopefully he won't keep opening his wound.
Anda
Neosporin and other ointments have helped Ouzo two month ago when he got a nasty paw cut. E-collars and botties and bandages did not work at all for us, either. Cleaning the wound daily and puting Neosporin helped us get through it in about 1.5 months. Here's the thread to my post about Ouzo's paw cut, I got a bunch of wonderful and useful suggestions from the other members of this board. Jojo de l'Aude
Thanks for all the advice...It's a continues problem with him. He tends to get it every so often doesn't matter the surface, just fragile feet I suppose. ... you should see the mood though  poor babe... Journey
You might try a product called "Tuff Foot". It's rather nasty as far as application goes! I've had to use it on one of my boys that has "pink" pads. I pour some on a jar lid and have him step on the lid. It works, just messy. Mine tear theirs up on the pool decking. Allie+Tess&Kipp
Does the "Tuff Foot" stuff prevent paw injuries or does it protect them while they heal? (Or both?) Just curious. I suppose I could go look it up on the internet! Edited to add: http://www.tuffoot.com/about/index.htm Looks interesting. It looks like something my dad's horse could use. Journey
Allie, yes you found the product. It does both! I use it various times of the year. I only need it a few times to toughen up their pads. Interesting, I've never thought of trying it on the horses. Karen
Jojo de l'Aude
I had forgotten totally about tuff foot...( duh!) I remember using it a long time ago, but I'll try it on Jo. He is feeling a lot better today, might get back into a bit of ball playing tomorrow... thanks
