Star
I am so sorry you are having to struggle with this. I know how it feels and completely understand the heart vs. practicality concern. I've had to put a few old pets to sleep and I don't think, with the exception of one, that I ever made the right decision. I think I waited a hair too long in each case. I think we just have to try very mch to do the very best we can and try to keep their happiness and comfort in mind. My only suggestion--my boss adopted a husky that had either liver or kidney issues (can't recall which). The vet told her the dog wouldn't live more than a couple of months. She treated with meds and put her on a home cooked, gluten free diet. That's been over 3 years ago and the dog is still going strong. It sounds like you might already be doing this with a vegetarian diet?
powerfulgazelle
I'm reminded of the passage in The Little Prince---"It is only with the heart that one can see rightly, what is essential is invisible to the eye." I think Tex probably sees just fine, thanks to your love.
Sue R
Sounds like you and Tex have a little group of angels looking after you both. Very best wishes, and you are in our prayers!
Maralynn
I rent an old farmhouse from my boyfriends Mum. This morning, she told me to take the cost of Tex's monthly meds off my rent. I love these people!! This made me tear up. I'm glad that both Tex and you are in such good hands!
