gcv-border
A friend is dealing with a diagnosis of lymphoma for her BC. The lab is taking a long time returning results regarding what stage of lymphoma. She doesn't know why (conflicting results? poor/unreadable samples?) One question that the lab asked was if there were any blue merles in the dog's pedigree (no). Do blue merles have a higher incidence of cancer (lymphoma)? (When she related the story to me, she said blue merles (vs. red merles), but I am not sure if the lab specifically mentioned blue.) It would probably be better to ask if there is a correlation with merle coloring and cancer. Thanks in advance, Jovi
KelliePup
That's interesting. I had never heard of that before. Perhaps they're doing a study? I'd be curious.
Root Beer
I've heard that, but only through word of mouth. I don't know if any formal studies have been done. I'm very sorry to hear about your friend's dog.
juliepoudrier
Most of the dogs I've know with lymphoma (and other cancers) have not been merle, FWIW. J.
