burdock
I was wondering is it proper to trim the fur that grows out from between the pads of the paws of the Border Collie.
rushdoggie
Proper? I would say that its contextual. I trim my dogs pads for 2 reasons: 1. they track in a little less mud and leaves and 2. they slip less on my hard floors. I suppose if I had dirt colored carpeting it would matter less, and there might be a good reason to leave it for a dog working in a field.
luv2napp
I think it's a personal thing. I DO trim Lacee's paws....mainly because I don't want her tracking in all the dirt from outside. It's much easier wiping mud off her paws when there no fur!
BCjetta
I trim all my dogs paws. They track in less dirt, they don't seem to get the big snowballs caught on their feet, and they don't get grass/burs etc stuck when the fur is trimmed. They also look nicer and cleaner.
