di59louie
I think I may have it down now...I've started feeding Louie this organic (non-corn,non-wheat non-hormone,etc.) dry food mixed with a little warm water and (2) 1/4 tsp of probiotics along with 1/8 of organic wet food - has fish in it - he gobbles it up. I spoke with this Vetenarian Nutritonist who is very compassionate about these probiotics so I am giving it a try. I feel like an outside consumer in the field of animal nutriton and there is so much to learn. I am a Registered Dietitian and know human nutrition well so this is all so very interesting. Anyone else doing probiotics or have given it a try?? I am going to wait and see if the itching goes away. Diana
TheStacks
I just add plain yogurt to their food/in their kongs for Probiotics. I have not heard Probiotics for itchy skin, but I know it helps aid in digestion.
di59louie
That's a great idea! re: yogurt and probiotics - I wuld use Stonyfield yogurt - my favorite. You're right the probiotics would aid good digestion and add good flora to the gut. The change in diet - going more organic I am hoping to prevent the itching.
