sweet_ceana
We are moving from Colorado to Arizona in a few weeks which means we will have to leave our current vet. ( I love our vet, she has a Border Collie as well and her advice and care has been amazing)She has been my parents vet since we came to Colorado, so once we got Ceana I naturally stayed with who I knew was trust worthy. How do I go about finding another vet once I get to Arizona? I feel spoiled in Colorado because CSU is a great vet school I feel like we get the cream of the crop & I have met many wounderful grads. What should I look for and what questions should I ask? Also, Ceana is not spayed yet (No I would never breed her in a million years!)and I want to make sure we find a great person to do it. How can I look into this? We had something unexpected happen and had to use the money we had set aside to spay her once she was old enough on something more pressing. Now we have the $$ but I do not want to do it until we move and she won't be under a lot of stress. Thanks again, you all are a wealth of knowlage. nancy
Ask your current vet for a recommendation.
juliepoudrier
The search function can be quite handy for answering questions like this. Here are a few threads that discuss choosing vets: Should I find a new vet? What kind of vet do you use? How to find a good vet J.
pearls pop
Ask other dog owners, when walking my dog and meeting other dog owners I would ask them who they used. I also met a person who worked at the local shelter and they told me who they would not use. A friend of mine once actually went to some vets offices and hung out in the parking lots and asked questions of people who were coming and going from the vets. What part of arizona are you moving too?

AK dog doc
Well, you're right about CSU. (My alma mater; maybe I'm prejudiced.) When you way you're moving in a few weeks, is that 2 weeks or 8 weeks or something else? In 2 weeks your dog would be WELL healed (in fact, most dogs are feeling pretty spunky within a few days of the surgery). If you've got longer than that, you'd have plenty of time to recover her before you have to move. Time permitting, it might be worth doing it before you leave in order to have the vet you know and trust do the surgery. Just a thought.
