urge to herd
Does anyone here feed their dogs (and cats) dried seaweed, the kind they sell in the health food store? I was thinking that the salt and iodine might be excessive for them. All 5 furry creatures are in good health. Thanks! Ruth n the Border Trio + 2 Samantha, who just turned 9! SoloRiver
I give dried seaweed (the sort that comes pressed into sheets, like you'd wrap California rolls in) to my dogs all the time as snacks. I can't imagine why you'd want to feed it as part of the regular diet -- it's too expensive. Iodine and salt are not "bad" for dogs, as they need some amount of both in the diet. But there are powdered kelp supplements that would make more sense to feed if you think your dog needs supplements. If you're feeding a good quality food you won't need to add supplements. urge to herd
Hi, Melanie, They get a really good diet, which I supplement according to what the vet tells me and what I observe. It will be definitely a snacky thing for them, just wondering if there was any reason not to. Thanks for the response!
