Jodi
Hi all - I'm hoping someone can help me. I have a pup who has pretty severe HD. She's a year old. I've had her on Rimadyl for the last two months or so, and in the last three weeks or so, added Glycoflex to it in hopes of weening her off the Rimadyl. I know that it takes several weeks for the Glycoflex to build up in her system enough to be effective. She's also on K-9 Liquid Health, which has glucosamine and condroitins. In a recent post, I've seen something about Metacam. What are the side effect of Metacam? Is it as gnarly a drug as Rimadyl? My vet wants to keep doing liver and kidney checks if we keep her on the Rimadyl. I just want to offer this girl as comfortable a life as long as possible, but from what I understand, Rimadyl can do its share of damage to the internal organs. Does anyone own an HD dog, and if so, what do you have them on? Thanks. Jodi M.
AK dog doc
Hi Jodi I think if you hunt around through the archives you'll find that there's at least one thread dealing with this question - to be honest, I don't recall the title(s), but you might find your questions answered there already (how convenient is THAT?)
