looks very interesting. i have several friends that run kelpies. and just helped a friend find one for her big goat operation

I met Tim and Judy Austin in the 1970s at our friend's ranch, the Casa de Carrillo in Sebastopol California. The Austins were staying there also. Bob and Jean Carrillo were very active in the breed's introduction to the United States. They arranged for Tim to do sheepdog exhibitions throughout California (including one at the Ontario Speedway, east of Los Angeles). Bob and Jean invited me to go with them. The demonstrations were impressive. His Kelpies performed really well.

 

Tim shipped a number of Elfinvale Kelpies to the Nordic region as well. I can't help but wonder how they may have influenced the modern Lapponian Reindeer Herder:
