Izzysdad
Our schedules are not set so being able to maintain a consistent med schedule can't happen here plus we have two others to care for. We're quite upset about bringing Lex back but it's the right thing to do. Thanks again everyone for her well wishes, there haven't been any seizures since Thursday night. ejano
You did make a terribly difficult but the best decision for all of you, including Lexi. When a dog is medicated, it is critical that the medicine be given on schedule and that someone is generally around to monitor the dog and the medication's effects. Rescue is wonderful place to get a companion dog - we've had many over the years. Lexi is a nice dog and she will find the right home. If you are looking for a dog to begin serious lessons and trialing with, the best place to go is within the working/trailing community to purchase a dog that is "started" -- has its manners and knows a little more than you about sheep . Best wishes. Liz
mbc1963
Sorry about this - gotta be a really hard one. I hope Lexi will be going back to her previous foster... and I hope they can sort out the seizure thing! Mary
Alchemist
I'm so sorry. Your love of Lexi has really shown itself in your recent posts; I'm sure you agonized over this decision.
Sue R
You gave it a good shot, trying to make things work for her in your family. It's not your fault that her needs include something that you can't provide. Very best wishes to all of you!
KrisK
Sorry to hear that you had to make such a tough choice. Making a choice for Lexi's health and well-being is the right thing to do. You've shown her how much you love her. I am sure the perfect home will be found for her. Best wishes....
Izzysdad
Thanks all! It's amazing how attached you get to these dogs in only a week! She'll find the home in which the family keeps the proper schedule for her meds. While my schedule allows us to have several border collies, it's also a downfall when it would come to a dog with more specialized needs. She'll be missed by everyone that has met her.
