This concerns me as my dogs all have AVID chips. I wrote to AVID and Microchip ID Systems (where I get my AVID chips). I got an answer back from Jean Anne, the president. I posted it on my blog. I should be getting n email w/permission to cross post in a few days from them. He said the rumor started 3 weeks ago and AVID has been flooded with calls.
