Two from US, one from NZ, one from AUS made the semis[/quote

This is an amazing result for the Ausies and Kiwis considering there is only one Aussie representative, with 2 dogs one of whom was absent from injury, and 4 Kiwis with 5 dogs one of whom was absent. Can't help but be a biased towards the Aussies and Kiwis.

You can see the results of the first half-dozen or so runs posted already. It is truly a "world" trial at this early stage with a Norwegian team in front, followed by an English team (Richard Millichap and Taddymoor Cap), and a Dutch team. The rest of the results are from English, Welsh, and German competitors.

It is early yet, and the Americans (for those of us on this side of both ponds), will not be running until quite later in the day. Too bad there isn't some way to watch it on the internet as Tommy Wilson and Alasdair MacRae are running with only Andrew Carnegie in between them. The three runs that I would have most liked to see (two Americans and my Celt's half-sister) are back-to-back.

Best wishes to all the competitors for safe and satisfying runs!

Aled Owen and Meirion Jones ( both running for Wales) are leading at 395 points (out of 440). Scores are quite high, only one DQ and one RT so far, and just over half-way done (or at least posted).

What counts today is qualifying for tomorrow - I wish I could be there...

According to the ISDS website, a standard was imposed beginning with run #27. Apparently the fog prevented an early start and they were concerned about finishing.

Hi Amy,

Thanks for the additional information, and that would explain the numerous "retireds" in the later runs. But, what a shame that both Tommy and Alasdair were late in the running order....drats!

Regards to all,

nancy

It was a shame the fog cut some peoples runs short.

Bernard Arends finished 17th, one place out of a finals run.

I just got home to "hear" the sad news concerning Tommy and Alasdair. What a shame. They did us proud in the qualifying runs.

I wish the very best to all competing in the Finals, including those from the "colonies".
