Hmmm ... 4 feet on each sheep, two ?toes? on each foot ? that?s 8 toes per sheep ? times 520 ? that's 4,160 toes so far ? and about the same to come! And just think, if I didn?t have Border Collies, and if I hadn?t found these Boards, and got the bug to take the plunge learning to work sheep, I wouldn?t be having all this fun. Seriously, it?s quite satisfying (if a bit of a struggle to tip some of the big ewes out of the handler race into the cradle). Nice to think that the girls will have lovely feet ready for joining the week after next. Hope the rams appreciate the fact ! And there?s quite a bit of stock work in between times for Kirra and me. She?s becoming quite a useful little yard dog, and is learning to work in the holding shed ? though she?s not crazy about the metal grating on the floor.
