PennyT
Here is something that I noticed a few months ago. The guidelines and rules have lots to say about how handlers are to behave toward judges but are silent on how judges should behave toward handlers. I have noticed that new judges tend to remark on runs for good or ill either after a run or before a handler runs another dog. This practice is inappropriate, and I wish the guidelines said something about professional behavior from judges toward handlers. Experienced judges who behave, let's face it, badly before, during, and after a run will not be influenced by a mention of polite behavior in the guidelines. Newer judges can be influenced to be professional by an introductory paragraph that urges politeness and the avoidance of foul language.
