cgt
Still lambing ... feeding some grain every day ... going a little crazy ... You know how when you put down some grain the sheep come running, your dog holds them off while you finish, then you move to another area as the sheep swarm the feeding station? You know how when you put some grain down elsewhere the sheep will come running again, even though they already have plenty where they are? Why is that? Guest PrairieFire
It's really quite simple, charles... The very best food is the food that no other sheep lips have touched - this is a well known fact in the animal nutrition industry, and is the basis for much scientific speculation... dot me not
Why is that? Because they are nothing more than glorified white fluffy locusts on the hoof . Anybody here besides me have small kids that watch the Land Before Time cartoon series? There's one video about locusts invading the dinosaurs' valley and eating all the green food. When the grandfather dino sees the swarm coming he shouts out, "OH NO! Swarming leaf gobblers!! It CAN'T be!!" Well, I have "flocking leaf gobblers". The Pyr even has to fight them off 'cause they'll try to run him out of his food, too. Damndest thing to see/hear a sheep eating dog food. CRUNCH, CRUNCH,CRUNCH.......
