gcv-border
It sounds like the industry is putting a lot of effort into ensuring the safety of flown pets. Interesting that airlines have to complete incident reports on pet fatalities, but not human fatalities.
fatredcircle
I used to work on the ramp loading planes for the largest airline in Canada. Everyone has a soft spot for animals that pass through, and we'd do our best to make sure they had a comfortable and safe travel. That said, I'd never want to transport my pet/animal in a cargo hold - It's a scary endeavor. Sure it's climate controlled, and we'd leave the lights on for them, but it's still scary - I wouldn't want to travel like that. Whenever we did an inbound flight, we'd make sure to get the live animals off first, and they'd always be a heaping mess. Stressed out, whimpering, cage smelling of feces - Almost every single time.
