Sparty
hey guys any suggestions how to teach my 7mth old the right way to do a swimmers turn? he loves what he has learned so far but i want to make sure he learns the right way to get the ball to minimise stress to him as at the moment he is charging up to the box
Rave
Here's an article about teaching swimmer's turns: http://bckennels.lunarpages.com/Turns.html It's something that's best done under the watch of an experienced trainer, but I'm not sure how much flyball there is down under? You might also want to join the flyball list....go to www.flyballdogs.com for info on how to do that. Good luck! Laura
border_collie_crazy
depnds on the dog really, some do better with a pylon that the dog is forced to go around, but my expreience is that the best way is to have a jump directly in front of the box, and use the motivator to coax the dog all 4 feet on the box, then its play time lol but rtphokie is right, its best under the watch of an experienced trainer, as a LOT of people manage to screw it up somehow lol
