loggerboots
Turns out Emmie has seperation anxiety. She's normally never alone (my wife works part time and usually from home and I have 3 kids who are off for the summer). However, when she is, she goes a little nuts. It's nothing too terrible, mostly howling and barking, but you can hear it from outside the house and houses are near together in my neighborhood. Plus, poor thing is clearly stressed out. Has anyone overcome this kind of thing? I've read some articles on how to 'treat' the behavior, but I'm thinking maybe I'll just send her to doggie daycare when the kids go back to school. terrecar
I would suggest Patricia McConnell's book, I'll Be Home Soon! How To Prevent and Treat Separation Anxiety.
