mbc1963
So, my sister has had a fever of 102+ for six days now. She went to the hospital on Friday, when her fever went high for the fourth day. They took blood samples, etc., and sent her home. Apparently her cultures turned up positive for staph and strep and low platelets levels. The CDC guy thinks it's a case of anaplasmosis, and they've admitted my sister to the hospital for IV antibiotics. Anyone got any experience with this illness in humans? Thanks in advance! MyTDogs
Wow Mary, that is frightening. I wish I had more to offer than my good thoughts. Does she know when/how she was exposed? What area is she in? Good luck & keep us posted! Cindy
juliepoudrier
I don't have any advice, but I hope she recovers uneventfully. There's a lot of talk of anaplasmosis on the tick list. It used to be called Ehrlichia phagocytophilum. J.
