Burnandreturn
I tried to buy a upright shearing platform from a company in Australia but they were useless to deal with so I built my own. It enables me to shear my sheep while I stand up. The sheep come up a ramp into a tipping crate. Then they are on their back with their hind feet in leg clamps. Rollers support their back and the leg clamp assembly can be swiveled in or to access both sides of the sheep. The fleece comes off in one piece the same as conventional shearing. It takes me less time to shear a sheep than conventional shearing. And I can shear 250 sheep a day easy and do it every day! Works great for trimming and just crutching. Mike Neary
That really looks interesting. Does it "roll" the sheep over to access the back and rump area for shearing? How does that work? What are you using for a shearing machine? I assume it isn't a shaft machine. Flex shaft? Electric, corded machine? mneary
