borderfreak
Totally stupid questions, but what is a working wand? How do you use it?
juliepoudrier
It's one of those fiberglass sticks you see people use. They used to all be white, but you see them in a pinkiish color now too. They're about 4' long, lightweight. People use them as they would a crook, although obviously you can't catch sheep with a wand like you could with a crook. Here's a link: working wands. You'll see there's a variety there. When I think of the working wands, I think of the fiberglass one like you see in the middle of the page, but apparently the options are growing.... J. borderfreak
Ahhh, okay. I saw them before but I didn't know what to do with that. So, it's actual the same like a crook? Or does the working wand has some special application?
juliepoudrier
Well you won't be able to catch sheep with a wand like you could with the curved end of the crook, but a wand can be used like an extension of your arm in the same way a crook might be used (to block sheep, to block the dog, that sort of thing).
