Guest herbertholmes
Would any trial host out there be interested in purchasing sheep mortality insurance from the usbcha. It will cost something like $25 for $500 worth of coverage. It would not cover stuff like a handlers dog running a sheep down, but would cover non dog related death as long as no one was negligient in the sheep care dept. Give me some feedback. hmh
tucknjill
Nope, my ewes run about 200 each...if not bred...so that would only cover roughly two ewes. If not dog related (which would be passed on to the handler) I cant imagine one of my sheep dying...Or what exactly the insurance would cover...and 25 seems high for only 500.00...I mean you pay 15 and get huge liability limits on your personal injury stuff thru both local clubs and usbcha...so I just dont see where it would be worth it to me personally. But I could be missing some hidden benifit so please correct me if I am wrong. Thanks for asking for input though....
blackacre
Hi Hub, I would think that as soon as a couple of claims were made, the insurance company would drastically increase the premium. The reason liability insurance is relatively cheap is that few claims are made. Andrea
TotallyTerry
I second Sam's sentiments.
