English shepherd links

Recommended Posts

Hi all. I thought I would write a quick note to let you all know who I am. My name is Erin Hischke and our family owns an English shepherd named Shooter, who has been talked about on this list. Shooter earns his keep here on our dairy farm. I posted a note about Shooter on the "work is the standard" thread if you all missed it. We have been breeders in the past but our female, Meg, passed on a few weeks ago.

I don't know much about BCs so I'm not going to get into the compare and contrast discussion. I *can* give some information on English shepherds and you can all draw your own conclusions. Feel free to ask questions and instruct me on the ways of the Border Collie!

Here is our website (nothing fancy--we're farmers after all  ) http://www.geocities.com/danhischke

You can link to Shooter, Meg, and many of their pups on that site.

Raven is Shooter's littermate. Brighton is Shooter's Mom. Dover is Shooter's uncle. Honey is Shooter's half-sister.

Here is Lilly, an example of the guardian nature of the dogs... My favorite Lilly story is when she rescued a duckling (her owner raises ducks) that fell through the ice. She carried it in her mouth and dropped it at her owner's feet. After a warm bath the duckling was returned to its mama.

Have fun!

Erin
