Guest PrairieFire
Hey guys... For those folks always asking for info on sheep... I'm recommending the Pipestone Lamb and Wool Program Sheep Home Study Course... It's a correspondence course that covers the entire year of woolie management (they ship you all the lessons at once)and I found it indispensable when I got started - it's been around for over 25 years... I think it only costs around $60 and is available from Minnesota West College, PO box 250, Pipestone, MN 56164....1-800-658-2330 It's got info on breeding, housing, nutrition, and even a short paper by Jackie Knox on dogs... Guest PrairieFire
Oh, and also the Sheep Industry Handbook - it's available from www.pipevet.com or the Sheep Industry Association itself...costs around $50 and if you register, they send you updates occasionally... Good sources of general info, will answer many basic questions, and provide at least a starting point for sheepie husbandry... By the way, the above website has an archive of articles and sheep tips as well...
