Bentley's Mommy
So our BC is about 1 1/2, his name is Bentley. About a week ago he started scratching and licking his side just above his back right leg. When I first looked to see what was going on there was no indication of anything... his skin looked totally normal. Now, however, he has a yellowish flakiness happening there and is beginning to scratch and lick in another area. I tried looking online to see if I could learn what it might be, and the only thing I could fine was something called "seborrhea sicca." Except this apparently produces a fairly foul smell and Bentley's doesn't have any odor. Does anyone have any idea what this could be, and how to treat it, or at least get him to stop licking and scratching?
Kitch
Have you had your vet look at it?
Shetlander
I second checking with the vet. The condition sounds unusual enough to warrant a visit.
Bentley's Mommy
Yeah I think that's what we may have to do if it persists. I wonder if it has anything to do with the salt water from the ocean, but I'm not sure that that makes sense.
