Rebecca, Irena Farm Posted May 10, 2004 Report Share Posted May 10, 2004 When Ben was sick two weeks ago, he had been on the pred, so we didn't pursue that option, plus he was getting better anyway by the time we talked about it. Last week he "crashed"again. Lost some more weight, lethargic again, hair falling out, dehydrated. This time the vet checked the electrolytes first. Not only was there an inbalance, but she also found his calcium levels were dangerously high. She did the cortisol test and we are waiting for that now. May be a couple more days but I sure hope not! The other possible direction we discussed was not a good one!! I'm really on pins and needles and other than sharing this note I've been trying not to think about it much this weekend.
