mysistersgrace
Has anyone been so unfortunate as to have their B.C. develop "Severe Carpal Breakdown?? My sister's dog has this, and she's planning on surgery, which is not only extremely expensive, but will also "fuse" the wrist bones in her front legs, so that she will never be able to bend them again. This is a devastating thing to a B.C. as we know, and my sister. Does anyone know of any alternatives?
brookcove
Actually, I've heard that the only problem that will ensure from this is that she will never again be a top agility or flyball star (or fill in the blank for your dog sport). If she was not active in a sport or a working dog before, most likely she will compensate to the point where you might not even notice her disability! Dogs are simply amazing. There is a three-legged, one-eyed sheepdog who not only ran well enough to where you never realized he only had three legs - he even won trials. I sincerely wish the best for your friend and her dog. mysistersgrace
Thanks for your reply, but the surgeon has told her that the wrists were to be fused to steel plates, and that she will not be able to bend them at all. She was extremely active, and always has been. Just looking for alternatives. Thanks for the good wishes!
