Brett Lance Chatz
My 7 year old border collie started vomiting several times a day in May. I took him to the vet and he was given anti-nausea medication, in addition to antacids. The vomiting persisted and he went to the vet several more times in May and June. By the time the X-Rays, Ultrasounds, and Endoscopy there was blood in the vomit and in the fecal matter. The biopsy revealed an aggressive stomach cancer. I waited for the vet's call on Monday 22 June and he told me that there was nothing to be done. Sadly, I took Chummy to the vet and had him put to sleep. This was the most devastating decision of my life to date. I'm sad that I never got to spend more quality time with him, but the more time I kept him alive, the greater was his suffering. What a cruel life. I miss him so much.
