Kyna Posted March 4, 2003 Report Share Posted March 4, 2003 Hi!! I think my Isla (Eye-la - 5 years old) has a touch of cold weather/exercise induced asthma. My vet and I have talked about it and she does not think it is very serious. Neither do I - Isla gets it about once every three months in the winter and it has to be pretty cold. I try not to run/work her too hard when it is below -20C but every now and again she comes back gasping (relatively) lightly and it lasts up to two hours. After the initial few minutes she settles down and gasps about once every 10-15 minutes. Otherwise she is in very good condition. As I mentioned it doesn't occur very often. BUT I sure would like to alleviate her symptoms and discomfort. If it occurs again (in a short period of time) I will take Isla back to the vet - for educations sake does anyone have experience with this? What have you used? (herbal or western meds?)
