Audrey
I was told at a recent dog show that my rescued border collie, who has no papers and is neutered, could be registered so we could participate in AKC agility and/or obedience trials. The process involved photographs and the registration was called and ILP or IPL or something like that. Where do I start this process? ZipUD
Hello Audrey, You are correct that you can get an ILP number from the AKC. This site can give you more information: http://www.akc.org/registration/ilpex.cfm You do have to take pictures and pay a registration fee, which I think is around $30. The ILP will allow you to show in performance events only, no confirmation, and I believe the dog has to be spayed/neutered in order to get the ILP. Hopefully that helps you out! : ) Donna River Falls, WI
