Chris Zink seminar in the Philadelphia area

Whether you have a performance or working dog, if you live in the mid-Atlantic region and have dealt with a serious canine orthopedic or soft tissue injury, then you've likely heard of VOSM. Dr. Zink consults for them, and she really is fantastic at what she does. So if anyone in the PA/NJ/DE/MD area is interested, this is a great opportunity to bring your dog (or even come audit) and learn how to both prevent and detect musculoskeletal issues in working and performance animals. Chris Zink, author of Peak Performance: Coaching the Canine Athlete, Jumping A - Z and The Agility Advantage will present a two-day seminar focusing on how the canine body works, and what we can do to improve performance and keep our dogs healthy. The seminar is broken up into several segments, with lectures followed by demonstrations and discussions.

General topics, using participating dogs, include:

• Structure analysis in groups with help from Chris

• Gait analysis

• Demonstrations of how you can do a lameness exam to identify problems that need veterinary attention

• Conditioning and warm-ups for your specific sport

• Targeted exercises for specific conditions such as hip dysplasia and back pain

• Jump training: the biomechanics of jumping, training from puppies to adults, and how to fix jumping problems

• How structure and function affects a dog’s performance in Agility and other

sports

• How to identify the 3 most common orthopedic conditions affecting performance dogs

• Rehabilitating your dog following an injury

All topics are geared towards educating you on how to improve or maintain your dog’s performance, and help keep

him injury-free. Approved for 13 CEU’s (6.5 per day)
