poligar
Hi, I will be for a couple of weeks in Germany and Im looking for some good books to take back with me. Unfortunately, there is not much available in my country , so I want to use this chance to get two or three titles. (FYI I want them in English, its quite easy to get them here). My Francisca is a sweet charming BC, but she is not into working with livestock. Nevertheless, we do a lot of training with her in obedience and agility, all of it based on our research in internet. Im looking therefore for books that talk about training, personality, characteristics, etc... but not too technical regarding herding, as we dont do that. Does anyone have good suggestions for me? I appreciate all your inputs!!!
Sue R
One book that I think you might enjoy is "Understanding Border Collies" by Barbara Sykes. While she does touch on stockwork, the majority of the book is simply about Border Collies in terms of personality, life stages, basic obedience and manners, and so forth. It's what I'd call a good, general purpose Border Collie book that is an educational book for a pet owner. Have a great trip!
Jedismom
I am currently reading Pat Miller's, The Power of Positive Dog Training and I really love it.
