Sue R
Buckeye Cow Dog Association's Third Annual Hourglass Stockdog trial will be held Friday evening through Sunday July 27-29, 2007 at the Rafter L Bar Arena at Lavelle Farms in New Marshfield, Ohio. Entry forms and directions may be downloaded from the Association's web site HYPERLINK "http://www.buckeyecowdog.com"www.buckeyecowdog.com Entries are now open and will remain so until the trial is full or July 1, 2007. Run orders will be announced after July 1, 2007. The trial is again sanctioned by USBCHA. All breeds of dogs and all levels of handlers are welcome. BCDA members earn points that accumulate from trial-to-trial throughout the year toward year-end high point awards. Results will be transmitted to USBCHA. One must be a dues paying member for points to accumulate in either association, before entering a particular class. The trial kicks off with a USBCHA sanctioned Horseback Open Cattle Class on Friday evening at 6:30 p.m. Stalls are available for horses as well as camper hook-ups. On Saturday morning, a handler's meeting will be held at 8:00 a.m. and immediately before each class and again on Sunday. The course will change from class-to- class and day-to-day. Entry fees in cattle or sheep classes are just $25.00 for this trial with prizes and awards through fifth place. No payback. On-site concessions will be offered by the Federal-Hocking Alumni Chapter of the Future Farmers of America. Camper hook-ups, indoor rest rooms, and horse stalls are also available. All classes will be scored on a "Points Plus Time" basis. There will be six to seven obstacles in each class with an 8 minute time limit. The handler that brings the highest number of stock through the obstacles in proper order is awarded the most points and declared the winner. In the event of a tie, the first tie-breaker is the end time. The second tie-breaker is a time line that is announced before each class. Some novice classes may be shortened. The stock will be seasoned.
