Maralynn
I started the yearly chore of sheep shearing today. When I started in on the second ewe, I noticed she had several small sores around one of her teats. I checked her lambs, and sure enough they each had a few small wart like sores around their lips. Could this be sore mouth? I've never had it in my sheep before, but it seems to fit the textbook description. We seperated out the ewe and lambs for now. The lambs still seem to be nursing and eating OK. I looked at several of the other lambs, and they looked fine. But all the lambs have been kept together, and I'm worried that I may have to deal with several sick lambs. Would vacinating at this point do any good? Is there anything else that would bring on those symptoms? Any other thoughts or ideas?
