Betsy
Here's a great site to stay up-to-date on the dog food recall: http://www.howl911.com/petfoodrecall.htm One of the links on the above site suggests that there is a possibility of Iams DRY food also causing illness. There have been 3 reports of this, all still unconfirmed as of yet, Iams Dry food has not been recalled. Here is the link for that story: http://www.itchmo.com/read/several-unconfi...llness_20070323

bc friend
Betsy - thanks for posting the sites. I am NOT happy to learn that Menu makes Innova products - I feed EVO to my dogs. I do wish naturapet had been upfront about this on their website.
blackeyesue
Betsy - thanks for posting the sites. I am NOT happy to learn that Menu makes Innova products - I feed EVO to my dogs. I do wish naturapet had been upfront about this on their website. I feed EVO also. I wasn't aware Menu Foods was involved with Innova wet. Guess you can never know for sure unless you feed a home based diet.
bc friend
The information is from the first website posted by Betsy under "Pet Food Express Restricts Sales" dated 3/22/07. It showed a number of brands that have not been disclosed as being manufactured by Menu Foods. The "good" news is that these foods - at least Innova - was manufactured at a different plant owned by Menu Foods.
Lizmo
I was very suprised too, to find out that Innova would even go near Menu Foods plant. But Timberwolf will not tell where their foods are made. I sure hope Orijen comes to the states soon.

I was gonna do Timberwolf, but it doesnt say where its made... A food called Orijen is made in Canada, but is slowly making it's way to the states. It is a food that is 70% Meats and 30% Fruits and Veggies. It's really nice quality...one of the best IMO. I can't wait to feed it when it makes it's way into the US. Tiga's_mom
The food that we feed Tiga isn't on any of those lists. We feed a dry kibble that we buy from the vet. I hope it's not one of the tainted ones.

Betsy
I just wanted to bump this post as there have been additions to the list of food recalled, including some not by Menu Foods, so you may not get complete information if you are only looking at Menu Foods lists. Del Monte has recalled some foods as well - because of the possibility of the same contaminent. Here's the story from Howl911: http://home.businesswire.com/portal/site/h...news_view_popup

WyoBC
I feed Jack Exclusive brand Chicken and Rice dry kibble. It's really good. He seems to do great with it, and it's made in the USA. I'm not sure what state but I'll check into it. It's low waste so I go through a 35 lb. bag about every two months. I can't believe how many brands of food are being recalled. It's amazing. I almost don't feel safe feeding them anything.

Guest pax
Ugh. Now Howl 911 is taking aim, (and rightfully so, I guess) at Blue Buff. There is going to be nothing left to feed my barn cats. I am going to have to just tell them to catch more on their own. Except then they'll get bird flu or Potomac fever or rabies. Bugger.
