smileyzookie
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/17758814/ A man suspected of cutting the head off a teenage girl’s dog and leaving it at her front door in a gift-wrapped box was in jail Friday on suspicion of terrorist threats. The 24-year-old man, who was not immediately charged, used to date Crystal Brown, the girl’s grandmother said. Crystal, 17, immediately told police she suspected him because he expressed jealousy after she ended a relationship with him and dated someone else, her grandmother Shirley Brown said. This guy needs to be ran through the ringer... what an a$$
Beth G
Well, I would not use such a nice word for him... But I'm so glad they got the culprit. I can't imagine how anyone could ever be mad enough at someone to do that, and then to think it is justified!!! I hope that they push for the most extreme punishment they can. smileyzookie
I completely agree. Im wondering what the max punishment is though. I know at least here in Idaho, animal cruelty isnt punished extremely severely. I think I read somewhere last year that we're one of the most leanient (spelling I know lol) states. Hopefully the terrorist part of the charges will lead to a huge punishment.
PSmitty
I had a feeling it was a jilted lover all along. But that goes waaaaay beyond normal jilted-lover behavior. Waaaay beyond jilted-lover-stalker behavior. As I said before, whoever did that will end up doing much worse in his lifetime, I'm afraid. painted_ponies
I had a feeling it was a jilted lover all along. But that goes waaaaay beyond normal jilted-lover behavior. Waaaay beyond jilted-lover-stalker behavior. As I said before, whoever did that will end up doing much worse in his lifetime, I'm afraid. Me, too. Unfortunately, it's not at all uncommon for abusive partners to take out their rage on the victim's pets. Or children, either - remember the guy who flew his plane into his ex-wife's house with his eight year old daughter aboard? In fact, SC executed a guy a few years ago who pulled his van up to his ex-wife's condo at the beach, strapped their two year old daughter inside, and set it on fire. I'm not sure I get the terrorism charge, but then I don't know the elements of the crime.
Toby the Puppy
When I was in college (a looooong time ago) there was a woman who's ex husband had 'custody' of their basset hound. She really loved that dog and he knew it so to get back at her for leaving him he euthanized the dog and told her about it afterwards. She was devastated, of course. I just don't understand how people can be so cruel and then live with themselves afterwards. Where did their morals go??
bc4pack
Many animal organizations are starting up programs to shelter dogs in domestic abuse cases; also trying to get the word out about youngsters that abuse animals turning into abusers as they age. One of the things I find sickening is youngsters taping some nasty stuff, then posting it on You Tube. Recently,in the Houston area,a couple ofteenagers taped themselves egging on their pittie to attack and kill a cat. They posted and ....DUH....found themselves in trouble. The dumb ones make it sooooo easy! Makes you wonder who is raising these kids that have no respect for life.

sluj
I posted on another thread about Minnesota animal cruelty, but it was one of the missing posts. I believe it is a maximum of $5000 fine, and 2 years jail time for death or severe injury to a pet or service animal. To be doubled if the action was meant to threaten or terrorize. I think the prosecutors will have a good case that sending the girl the "present" was intended to cause terror; it sounds like they are planning to go that route. My information comes from an animal advocacy website I found by googling, so I can't vouch for its acuracy. Personally I think he deserves nothing less than to be dropped in a deep hole and left to rot.
