OMG! SHE ATE A CINNAMON SCENTED PINECONE!!

Recommended Posts

Anyone know what to do? She just gulped it! It was fairly small, but I'm scared it'll hurt her next time she has to poop. I'm not even sure where it came from. hmg! now I'm freaking out.

Okay, sorry for kind of grinning at first. That was because I read your byline.

I am sure she will be fine. Unless the scenting contains anything harmful which I doubt.

Heck mine swallow the damn things all day long. Have I mentioned that I live under some

huge pinetrees? They all seem to pass them without any problems.

It's the "cinnamon-scented" aspect that would worry me. Was this left over from Christmas? Those cones are scented with essential oils and some of them may be very irritating to skin or mucus membranes. You might want to check with your vet to see if there is something you should be doing or watching for.

Best wishes!

I hope poor Joy is ok. I guess she's a puppy, what can you do?

uh==oh! eluane used to love gnawing on pine cones even when a wee pup at eight weeks. And we let her. yikes!!! She'd eat them like corn on the cob kernels a little bit at the time. Bad owner me just thought she was using them to massage her teething gums. But come to think of it, those pine cones would be so stripped down within 2 days that they'd turn fuzzy from the inside out and now that I think back those seeds were gone too as in... puppy tummy?

Oh, dear, I think I should have been like you, the concerned Mama instead of ignorant Mama! well, definitely hope Joy is o.k.! eluane is now 10 months, so she survived the pine cones, lucky me! But perhaps because she stopped chomping on them when she stopped teething1 pheww!
