bcluver4life
That's right! We're so much closer to the case than before! Yesterday my Dad and I want back to the dog park with Jake and Blaze. We were looking for the guy again that owned the dog that murdered Jessie. We got people talking to us, saying that they had seen the man back with his dog in the park. We've also found out that he is 60-65 years old, always wears a jogging suit and a cap, drives a red car, and has been going back to the dog park since the attack. He still doesn't this murder is his fault because he didn't watch his dog. Frank got his linsence(sp?) plate number for us. Also, we learned that the dog's name is Hinakin. Now we're going to go back to the dog park for longer periods of times to try and find him. Puppies are safer in the area now for they had decided to put up a sign that said "Large Dog Area (21 lbs. and over)." So there's no way a puppy is going back in there. We've also learned that word of teh attack spread fast. We talked to Sasha's Mom yesterday and she said that she had atleast 20 people tell her about the attack. The bad thing is that people are afraid to take their dog(s) there now. It was a very sunny day yesterday and only about 4 to 6 people were at the dog park in the "large area" though in the "small area" there were plently of people and dogs. That's all for now. Tiga's_mom
I'm just catching up on all of this now. First of all, I'm really sorry for your loss. I hope you can get some closure. I really hope that the guy that owns this dog is made to pay for his actions, or lack there of. Big hugs to you and your family.
Kat's Dogs
Getting closer! Whatever you do, don't give up on this and let it slide, you have to just keep on holding strong until you get what you want. Good luck to you.
smileyzookie
Good for you! I second everything Kat said too.
flrpwr52
Why don't you go talk to the police and give them his license plate number? They can go talk to the man. There is no reason you should talk to this man at the dog park. If you have people willing to tell the police what they saw then let the police know that too. I do wish you would think twice about talking to this man at the dog park. If you have a legal aid service in your area you can call them and ask what is the best way to handle this. I told you what I did to resolve our attack to give you a place to start. Now please let the authorities do their part.

So we're having some trouble with that right now. Though we went by the dog shelter just today and filed the report. We're trying hard to get the man's name and tag number. BayouBC
I would file an actual police report as well as the report with the animal shelter. While generally we dog lovers don't like the legal view of pets as "property", in this case it should allow you to file a police report. And I second/third the above. Get the license plate number and give that to the police and animal control. This is not a situation where you want to confront the man yourselves. It's a highly emotional issue for BOTH sides and could easily turn ugly or even violent. You don't know this man or how he might react to a confrontation. Also keep in mind that if he's at the dog park, his dog is with him. And if things DID get loud or nasty, sometimes dogs will also respond to their owner's perceived distress and can become aggressive. At least give the police and animal control the chance to pursue this themselves. If that doesn't work, then maybe pursue it yourselves. hoku's mum
Wow... been away from the boards for a bit, and just been catching up... I am so sad to hear what happened to poor Jessie. We had a Pittbull walk up to our 11 lb pug mix, Gussy, pick her up by the neck and start shaking her. Luckly the owner was right there, and got the dog to release Gussy. After hours at the E- vet, many stiches and drains, she is OK, now terrified of big dogs, but OK. But I know the terror and helpless feeling of watching a bigger dog just treat your dog like a toy to be torn apart... My thoughts are with you and big hugs out to you and your family. Good luck with finding this guy. He is a menise. I would definatly talk to the police since your Dad was biten. And be careful approching him yourself... I really agree that is a job for the police. WyoBC
I'm glad your getting closer to finding him. I hope you do find him, or rather the police find him. I would tell you to go the police rout, along with the animal control too. Since I'm getting into law enforcement I know some about this. It's better to let the police find him and bring him in for it, it's not a good idea to find him and talk to him. It'll just make it worse. Also file it as soon as possible, the sooner the better. Good luck finding him. Keep me updated.
Bill Fosher
I'm sorry and horrified for the loss of your puppy and the suffering she had to endure. But you need to turn this matter over to the authorities. And you also need to consider what murder is: the intentional, unlawful killing of one human being by another. Murder is evil. The dog that killed your pup was not evil -- it was out of control, violent and dangerous, but it is incapable of the level of malice that can creep into the human soul and lead to murder. I know it's just a word, but in the years that I spent as a newspaper reporter I was closer than I ever wanted to be to about a dozen murders. As tragic and horrible as your puppy's death is, it was not a murder.
