KrisK
Brandy came into my life as a 6 month old 'Springer Spaniel'. She was a lovely, lovely soul from the day I met her. I had just remarried and wasn't working full time so I thought a dog was a great idea. Little did I know how much she would mean to me. When the marriage ended in 1989, my ex wanted 'partial custody'. My answer was an emphatic NO...I let him have the furniture, the crystal, the house, but h*** would freeze over before he could have her. She was my lifeline and we spend many wonderful days together. Her favourite pastime was when we would head to our camp (cottage). There was no electricity, no running water, just the North Channel, glorious sunsets and Brandy's favourite - barbequed steak We shared She learned to swim at the age of 9, so she could chase the beavers that had moved in. She loved everyone, and my dad was among her favourites. His little Pomeranian, Shadow and my Brandy, would sit on either side of him...staring up with 'sorrowful' eyes (my dad's expression) until he would share his breakfast. Shadow was Brandy's best buddy in the canine world. In January, 1999, Shadow passed over the bridge, at the age of 16 1/2 years. In April, 1999, at the age of 16 1/2 years, Brandy joined him. She knew I would be okay without her, since DH had come into my life in 1997 (He had her seal of approval) I don't think Brandy was all Springer....her mannerisms where very much Border collie so I'm inclined to think she was at least part BC. She was about 4 years old in these pictures...and full of life. I still miss her...and every once in a while, I slip and one of the dogs will be called 'my Bran'
